What Happens with my Information?

When you purchase something from the website, as part of the buying and selling process, I collect the personal information you give me such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse the store, I may also receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide me with information that helps me learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing: With your permission, I may send you emails about the store, new products, and other updates.

How do you get my permission?

When you provide personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, I imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason.

If I ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, I will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no or opt out (i.e. an "unsubscribe" button) .

How do I withdraw my permission?

You may change your mind and decide to withdraw your consent for me to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by emailing lauradanby@mac.com.

Disclosure

I may disclose your personal information, if required by law or court order to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Squarespace

This store is currently hosted on Squarespace, Inc.  They provide the online e-commerce platform that allows me to sell my products and services to you.

The credit and debit payment processing is currently accomplished through Stripe, Inc., a third-party processing service (stripe.com) that allows us to accept your payment online.

Your data may be stored through Squarespace's and/or Stripe's data storage, databases, and the general  Squarespace or Stripe application.

Payment

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Stripe stores your credit card data.  According to my best information, your data is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).  Your purchase transaction data should be stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction.  After that is complete, your purchase transaction information should be deleted.

All direct payment gateways are required to adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

For more insight, you may also want to visit and review Squarespace's and/or Stripe's Terms of Service or Privacy Statement.

Third Party Services

In general, the third-party providers I use will only collect, use, and/or disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, I recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Once you leave this store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

Email Newsletters

As part of the registration process for my e-newsletter, I only collect an email address. I then use that to tell you about new products, projects and seasonal offers, or to contact you if I need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are correct. I do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

I use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver my newsletter. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of my emails.

Changes to this privacy policy
Laura Danby reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
